Embarrassing Pictures

I'm sure sometime in your life you've experienced an embarrassing picture. *sympathetic pat on shoulder*  Don't worry; we all have.  But what strikes me as ironic is what exactly we consider "socially acceptable" and what we don't.  Okay, so what if a lock of your hair was sticking straight up during a group friend shot?  But apparently to some people, this is a sin.  Anything unplanned in a picture is immediately shot down and deleted with hast. However THAT'S the key word!  "Unplanned."  It doesn't matter if it looks halfway decent or not; if it's unplanned, it's shunned.
What about duck lips?
In what way is THIS attractive?  It's not, but since it was planned, since the girl specifically made duck lips at the camera, she's okay with it being posted on Facebook or Tweeter.  Most definitely this sort of picture is a cry for attention.  "Hey!  Look at me and my ridiculous lips!"  Irony at it's finest. *shakes head in dismay*

And while we're on that thought, here's some results of me being bored and finding the picture taking program on our computer.

Day by Day Confessions

 March 7, 2013

Okay.  So I tried.  And I failed.  I can see why keeping a blog like this is so hard! *headdesk*  Anyhoo, now what you may ask?  Well, I'm not going to stop these posts completely!  I still find it a good idea to keep some sort of journal about my day, however this time it's going to be severely reduced.  Sometimes I may write paragraphs about the great time I had that day and others I might just type a sentence or two.  This time it's all going to be according to what *I* feel like doing!  Deal with it. ;)

However, what have I been doing for this past month?  Well let me summarize...
-Turned 17 (WOOT!!)
-Performed a dance to "Everybody Talks" in front of an adoring audience. (*double fistpump*)
-Wasn't able to try out for the soccer team because my physical expired the day of tryouts. (*throws pillow at wall*)
-Watched Jane Austin's "Emma." (Really quite good.  I suggest it to you all.)
-Went to prom. (Black and maroon actually look quite good on me. ;)

And there you go!  My past month in a nutshell.

An applicable song lyric:
http://www.televisiontunes.com/Doctor_Who.html

Something making me happy:
Sonic screwdrivers. ;)

Something I learned today:
Suspenders are not all that much fun to dance in... Who'dve thought? ;)

Something I need to be more thankful for:
Theme songs + Ipod speakers.

My 11:11 wish:
I wish I had a TARDIS.

Somewhere I want to be:
Traversing throughout all time and space.

Something I'd miss if the Earth were destroyed:
BBC

Some thoughts:
Today I dressed up as Doctor Who for the theme "Back in Time."  It was epic.  Enough said.

February 5, 2013

An applicable song lyric:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/SuperCrazyFactFinder/128595
The music; not the little girl singing along in the background. ;)

Something making me happy:
Watching people looking around to see where that music is coming from. XD

Something I learned today:
My costume this time had a better effect than I thought it would have. ;)

Something I need to be more thankful for:
Mackenzie willing to part with her Ipod speaker for a day.

My 11:11 wish:
I wish I had a tennis racket.

Somewhere I want to be:
Teaching our last dance practice at the Grace church tonight.

Something I would miss if the Earth were destroyed:
Mii. ;)

Some thoughts:
My costume today confused so many people. XD  I was a mii.  You know, one of those avatar characters from the Wii?  Well I downloaded the mii channel song to my Ipod and borrowed a friends speaker last night.  Then as I walked through the halls I had the song set on an endless loop.  It was hysterical to walk next to someone and see them sneak covert glances all around to see where that music was coming from. ;)

February 4, 2013

An applicable song lyric:
"I got the magic in me.  Every time I touch that track it turns into gold.  Everybody knows I got the magic in me."

Something making me happy:
My costume today was a hit. ;)

Something I learned today:
I have a strange ability to adapt to my environment.

Something I need to be more thankful for:
Wacko week.

My 11:11 wish:
I wish this week would pass by quickly.  I want to dance!

Somewhere I want to be:
Belting out lyrics to songs I know.

Something I would miss if the Earth were destroyed:
Seeing everyone's getup on days like these. ;)

Some thoughts:
Our school has a certain week set aside called Wacko Week.  On Friday of Wacko Week there's a big assembly with games and cheering and music and a LOT of miscellaneous noise. ::)  But that's not what's the best part.  The part *I* like is the week itself. ;)  During Wacko Week each day is categorized into certain themes.  Today was Alaskan day.  "What did I do?" you may ask.  Well I wore 1 shirt, 1 pair of shorts, 5 sweatshirts, 5 pairs of pants, 1 pair of snow pants, and 2 giant, thick coats.  I now know what it's like to be fat.  I don't like it.  I've determined never to get fat.  EVER.  But the costume was a big hit among friends today. ;) Even better were the looks I got from random strangers as I waddled down the hallways. XD

February 3, 2013

Something making me happy:
Superbowl parties.

Something I learned today:
Though I love the food at a Superbowl party, the actual playing of football will, quite literally, put me to sleep.

Something I need to be more thankful for:
Wonderful neighbors willing to back a lemon cake with lemon frosting just for me. :D

My 11:11 wish:
I wish I wasn't so dependent on technology.

Somewhere I want to be:
Shleeping.  It sounds real nice about now.

Something I would miss if the Earth were destroyed:
Books.  They're kind of amazing.

Some thoughts:
Got back from babysitting after they fed us french toast and bacon *fistpump* then went to church and watched the Superbowl at a friends house later.  Now I'm not a giant football fan.  And it doesn't help that I prefer to play sports rather than watch them. ::)  So basically I spent the entire time either sleeping or playing with the three year old.  Both which were immensely more exciting than actually WATCHING the football game. ;)

February 2, 2013

An applicable song lyric:
(Written by Mason Bennett and sung to the tune, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas")
"I wish you a happy birthday, I wish you a happy birthday, I wish you a happy birthday, you must feel real old!  You're still taller than I am, you're still taller than I am, you're STILL taller than I am, so enjoy it while it lasts!  It's one year until you're sixteen, just one year until you're sixteen, oh one year until your sixteen.... HAPPY BIRTHDAAAAYYY TOOOOO YOOOUUUU!!"

Something making me happy:
Being an obnoxious older brother.

Something I learned today:
I can make up parodies to songs like that. *snaps fingers*

Something I need to be more thankful for:
My two strong(ish) legs.

My 11:11 wish:
I wish I could teleport.

Somewhere I want to be:
Chilling out playing video games.

Something I would miss if the Earth were destroyed:
Babysitting.

Some thoughts:
Tait's birthday today!  I created a song just for him. *smug look*  Around 9am I headed to Trevor's for some more line dancing then walked the few miles back to my house.  Then I went babysitting with Tait.  So I watched the kids as he watched Doctor Who (it IS his birthday after all!).  We're still actually here right now.  Luckily they have a computer. ;)

January 27, 2013

An applicable song lyric:
"We may not know, we cannot tell what pains he had to bear.  But we believe it was for us, he hung and suffered there."

Something making me happy:
Fireplaces. :)

Something I learned today:
Apparently to other people I appear learned in our gospel.  Don't ask me why. *baffled look*

Something I need to be more thankful for:
That we live in a place where we can warm up our car without fear of it getting stolen.  Seriously! So many people up here will run to the car, start it, then run back inside to wait for it to heat up.  A car thief would have a heyday. ;)

My 11:11 wish:
I wish my testimony were stronger.

Somewhere I want to be:
At the temple.

Something I would miss if the Earth were destroyed:
Candles.  They look good, they smell good, they're warm... I see no downside to candles.

Some thoughts:
Our Sunday school teacher is gone on a three month trip somewhere so we've just been getting fill ins for the last few Sundays.  Today's teacher noticed that I was the one answering all the questions and making relevant statements so he repeatedly was asking the class through the lesson, "Is he always like this?"  Made me feel a bit smug when all the other kids affirmed his question. ;) Home teaching went well today.  I really need to make some lessons that would interest little kids as well as adults...

Day by Day: Diurnal Twenty-Eight

January 23, 2013

An applicable song lyric:
"I say yes, you say no.  You say stop, but I say go go go! Oh no.  You say goodbye and I say hello.  Hello hello!  I don't know why you say goodbye I say hello."

Something making me happy:
Bowties. :D Bowties are cool.

Something I learned today:
If ever you forget to dress up to a choir concert, Ms. Lang's costume closet is where to turn.

Something I need to be more thankful for:
Being a bass.

My 11:11 wish:
I wish I could find and buy a vest like the one I wore today.

Somewhere I want to be:
Taking a picture of me that is actually somewhat photogenic.*rolls eyes*

Something I would miss if the Earth were destroyed:
Silver stars.

Highlight of my day:
Finding my outfit for the choir performance.

Some thoughts:
I came to school today completely forgetting that I was supposed to dress up for our choir performance.  So what do I do?  I raid my choir teacher's costume closet and find a button up shirt, white vest, and a bowtie. :D  I didn't want to take it off at the end of the day. ;)  Plus today I went to scouts a bit late to find that the priests had off and gone to another church.  So I stayed behind with the young women.  I think I got the better deal. ;)
